One of your legs should be hanging down like a rudder in the water, with the other leg behind you — curled up — with your shoe resting on the top of the rope. That’s the driving force that helps push down the rope. Push with your left leg while your right leg is resting, pulling yourself along the top of the rope.
As a Spartan Race volunteer, you will help our racers and have a unique, behind-the-scenes race experience. Not only that, but volunteering gets you free entry to a race.
On a beast, the majority of the time is spent moving between obstacle groupings; that is where a fast time is made, not on the obstacles. So if you just want to finish, just be fit enough to hike 15 miles, complete the obstacles, and do your burpees. If you want to finish fast, run, run, run, preferably on hills.
Part 1: >A. Hand-release burpee pullup (four sets of 15 reps) When on the floor in the burpee, bring your chest all the way down and release your hands out to the sides; come back to pushup position and push back to standing. Bring chest to pullup bar as you come up. >B. Bucket carry stepup (three minutes):Use a 16-inch step. Goal is 60 steps/set.

Lateral apes – Crouch on the ground with both hands and feet on the ground. Place hands far out to one side and then hop sideways towards them. Make sure hips stay down – apes don’t move with their butts up in the air. Shrimp walk – Stand on one foot and grab the other ankle behind you with the same side hand.
